The Crafton Hills College Outcomes and Assessment Committee has developed an additional method for collecting learning outcomes information for Accreditation Reporting. Outcomes information needs to be collected for each course, program, student service, general education learning outcome, and institutional learning outcome. Outcomes Assessment Information

1. Learning Outcomes Statement (Example: Students will be able to successfully engage in basic conversation strategies in Chinese.)

2. Means of Assessment (Measurement Method) (Example: An oral interview was conducted with each student in Chinese. Each student was graded on a rubric form. Rubric forms were processed and analyzed by the Office of Research and Planning.

3. Criteria for Success (Benchmark) (Example: 70% of students will be rated at 3 or higher in all five areas. No students will score 1 in any category.)

5. Use of Results (Implications for Program Improvement & Planning) (Example: The Chinese Department was satisfied with the results, but they plan to address some of the fluency issues this year. They will create a study group in the Learning Resource Center to give students more opportuntities to improve their fluency. They will also add activities in class to practice fluency. At the end of Chinese 2 in Spring 2009, they will assess the student using the same rubric.
